Leprekaun,

I guess I'm not keeping myself up to date on everything that's happening in the league, but I thought Round 1 was scheduled for wednesday, june 11th. I checked the calendar last week and I believe that's what it said then.

Now, I understand the need to change the rules. and this being the first season, you job is made even harder as the single administrator.

However, changing rules w/out much notice ahead of time is going to create problems for participants. The rule changes are even harder to follow, since they appear in the "locked" threads on the forum. That is, even if you edit a locked thread, its title won't appear in bold, like the other threads where new posts have been added. As such, it is very easy to overlook rule changes and be completely unaware of them.

Therefore, in the future, I would like to ask you to notify all the participants by PMs or email of any rule change, preferably a few days ahead of the race.

Thanks,
Speedy Pro

i know what Speedy Pro will of done, thought oh a 1:10 lap set, ill use his setup and ill get fast laps...

I would've been happy to use my own set, but as it turned out that set violated the setup restrictions, so I had to use a "legal" set. And at that point, Lep's was the only one I had access to. Bummer, but hopefully we'll all be better prepared for the real race.

@Paul - great job spelling my name there. I was driving with Lep's setup which I had zero practice with, and certainly not feeling the car very well. Understeeeeeer...snap oversteer.
1st race - sucks to be behind a slower car, but we were racing for position. At the end of the straight I didn't intentionally cut it in front of you. The car snapped on me at that point (again).
2nd race - 100% my fault. I apologized to you both times. If that's not enough, well, that's racing. I hope to have better car control next time, unless the setups are again changed the day before.

Lep, the alternate setup is the softer one, right? I personally find it much much more drivable than any version of the one w/ 260 spring rates. The latter just bounces too much, no matter what the damping is set to.
Also to reiterate my question from another thread, do the adjustable tire pressures mean that there's no min. pressure any more (this is marked with (NEW) in the setup restrictions)?

Cheers,

Quote from Leprekaun :So quite simply, if a driver isn't running a restricted setup, the best that he will most likely be able to do is a mid-high 1:09 by which then their final time would be considered a mid-high 1:11.

1:11 is still pretty quick. There probably will be people with legitimate setups going slower than this. Just sayin'

Quote from spankmeyer :Some thoughts:

The new 'easier' setup restrictions were slightly disappointing.

The gearing really sucks for Blackwood. Especially the last two corners are deal breakers for me so I switched from full H-gate & clutch pedal to flappy paddles with auto clutch. The results? Nearly a sec off from my PB on 2nd lap with racing fuel on board.

But then again maybe I just suck.

Yeah, I think 3d gear is a bit too short for BL, but I do like the idea of a restricted setup. What's your PB so far?

Just to clarify, in the setup restrictions thread tire pressures are now listed as adjustable. Does that mean there's no minimum pressure?

Just wondering, since there's a separate set for qualifying, would it be possible to allow F12 menu adjustments during the qualifying? So things like tire pressures, camber, rear wing angle, etc. I undertand that you (the admin) can see when somebody changes these parameters during a pitstop, but can you see what the new values are set to? If you cannot see the values, then just ignore this.

I'm asking is because real teams are able to (and often do) make small changes during the qual. session.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Hey, glad you liked it.

I wish the replays captured the SC/green flag announcements, etc, but perhaps one day we'll get a professional broadcasting thing together.

Well, the replay did have safety car announcements (as in "safety car out" or something like that) and the messages said when it's coming in.

It wasn't very clear what happened to the Alias Racing/F. Sonne car after it stopped out on track (did he just Shift+S?), and the RB4 push car losing it on track was funny

It would be totally awesome if the view could automatically shift to the current closest battle on track, maybe by monitoring the gaps or something. But that's just wishful thinking, and as I said, it's really good as is. Keep it up guys!

Hey all,

Hope my post is not in the wrong place. I just wached the replay of round 4 and must say really well done to both the participants and the organizers. It was my first time watching IGTC and I really enjoyed it. Almost as good as watching real races on the telly!

And TRDT 04 - that was a fantastic comeback!

I'm not sure where else to ask this, but are we supposed to use the same setup in races as in qualifying? Or there can be another set for qualifying (adjusting the allowable parameters, of course)?

Photoshopping is not an issue for me. In fact, I enjoy post processing as much, if not more, as taking photos with the camera. I actually feel weird when all the adjustments I have to do are levels/curves.

I feel pp allows me to give an image a unique character and mood. I don't take photos to document reality. I take them for aesthetic reasons, and in that sense pp just gives you more control. If I'm able to capture something truly extraordinary with the camera, then sure, I won't touch it up much. Otherwise, into Photoshop it goes
